THE SPRINGS
Quatrine offers two types of spring support systems for our furniture:
8-WAY
The 8-way, hand-tied spring system provides the ultimate in stabilized
support and comfort for your custom made furniture.
• 8-gauge, steel-coil springs are compressed and tied to
each other and the frame by hand. This is not a drop-in, mechanical
unit.
• Four rows of coils, front to back (the industry standard
is three) provides a comfortable, flexible deck for the seat cushions.
• The hand-tied, soft front spring edge, provides extra support
on the much-used front edge.
NO-SAG
The No-Sag is a sinuous wire spring support system that
runs from the leading edge to the back of the frame. The spring
arches upwards and zig-zags in a serpentine “S” shape,
providing excellent seat support. No-Sag is standard for all of
our pieces.
• We use heavy, 8-gauge, no-sag springs which bend (zig-zag)
every 2”. Springs are attached to the frame 4” apart.
• No-sag springs are cross connected with helical springs
which increases platform stability and provides more of an 8-way
feel.
• “Tight-back” pieces use the No-Sag spring for
back support and then are padded before upholstery.
• Extra dense deck padding is used to cover the springs on
both the 8-way and No-Sag.
